A phrase from ‘O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,’ scored for bells and optional handchimes, introduces this arrangement of the lovely advent carol. Fresh harmonies, rhythmic motifs, open and thick textures, chimes and bells on melody, and the pure rung sound of bells set this arrangement apart for all others.
May be played using handbells alone, or handbells and orchestra. An optional keyboard part is included which could be used to replace the strings (and harp) if they are not available. This orchestration does not stand alone – it is for use with the handbell score published by Jeffers Handbell Supply, JHS9304. Orchestra score and all parts with permission to make the necessary copies are included here.
