Bring a Torch (handbell choir reproducible master score)
BY AND BY - Spiritual/arr. Karen Roth - handbell quartet
From the African spiritual, direct in its message; moving and lifting. Syncopation and accented offbeats are a challenge along with the mix between ringing and staccato techniques. A similar look between all ringers will enhance the visual aspect of the presentation.
CANON IN D - Pachelbel/arr. Michael Kastner and Nancy Schmidt Kastner - handbell quartet/quintet/sextet/ensemble
Effective as a quintet, the top part may be played by one ringer, making it a quartet. Other performance options are provided in the score. This piece was actually used at Michael and Nancy's wedding as their "musical vows."

CANTICLE - Kevin McChesney - 3-5 octave handbells - Level III
The opening section of this original piece is filled with excited praise (“canticle” means a song of praise), featuring mallets and an energetic 6/8 feel. The middle section is expressive and moving, and the return to the A section lifts the hearts of your ringers and listeners all the more. This is Kevin's tribute to one of the finest church musicians he has worked with, and easily finds a place in worship, concert, and festival.

CARILLON - Kevin McChesney - 3-5 octave handbells with optional handbell tree or C instrument - Level IV
Mixed meter is often flashy and quick, but it can also be flowing and lovely as illustrated by this original work by Kevin McChesney. The patterns are not hard to learn and are quite repetitious. The piece may be performed with 3-5 octaves of handbells alone or for an added dimension use a handbell tree or C instrument. An intimate moment in worship or concert.

CARILLON - Kevin McChesney - handbell solo with quartet/ensemble or keyboard accompaniment
Solo line lends itself to solo bells (especially on handbell tree) or to an alternate C instrument. Accompaniment line may be played by bells on a duplicate set, chimes, or keyboard.
A splashy mixed meter elevates the difficulty of this original work, but it follows logical and repeated patterns and should prove very accessible.
CARILLON ON NETTLETON - arr. Danny Lyons - handbell solo/duet/trio/quartet
This lovely arrangement of "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing" was premiered at the 2011 Solo / Ensemble Extravaganza (SEE) by the arranger, who used an impressive 8-in-hand setup to perform the piece as a solo. Add more ringers and/or perform on handbell tree to make the piece more accessible (or, if you're feeling ambitious, the arranger has included instructions for how to set up the bells to ring 8-in-hand) for use in worship or concert.

CAROL OF THE BELLS - arr. Tim Waugh - handbell duet/trio/quartet/quintet/sextet/ensemble
The full sound of the classic tune in a simplier setting, this one-page beauty is a Christmas favorite! Assign for two or three ringers for a challenge or for up to seven ringers for quick learning. Phrasing and dynamic shaping make this piece fun!

CAROL OF THE BELLS - arr. Kevin McChesney - handbell ensemble
A new twist on the traditional favorite. Start with one ringer, add a ringer or two, then add more until everyone's playing. Great for a processional, concert, worship - traditional or contemporary.
